William Behnken (b.1943)

Born in New York in 1943 and currently lives in the Bronx. Received his MA from the City College of New York. Currently a professor of art at City College and teaches printmaking at the Art Students League and National Academy of Design. He is a past president of the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) and is a a member of the National Academy of Design and Boston Printmakers.

Behnken has exhibited his prints throughout the United States and abroad. He has received many awards including the Louis Lozowick Award in Graphics from Audubon Artists and the Graphics Prize from the National Academy of Design.
