Gerald Scheck (b. 1940)

Gerald Scheck was born in 1940 in New Jersey, the son and grandson of metal workers. He worked in the family welding business until the age of 19 when he took up painting. He was seeking other ways to express his interest in art, which included sculpture and film making. Over thirty years after he took up painting, he was introduced to printmaking by Hella Viola, a friend and fellow printmaker. With his experience in welding and metal working, he took quickly to the intaglio medium.

His works are in numerous corporate and private collections.
