Description: A fine engraving from Marcus Elieser Bloch's "Ichthyologie ou Histoire Naturelle Generale et Particuliere des Poissons." This publication is regarded as one of the most beautiful 18th century books on the subject of fish ever published. When complete, this publication contained over 200 plates, each engraved on copper and then colored by hand.
Additional Info: Framed in a 1" beaded moulding finished in antiqued gold metal leaf over gesso. Fit with 100% rag stock matting with hand ruled empire design, rag stock backing and ultra-violet plexiglass.
